What Sentient does
Sentient is developing trusted communication between people through deliberately established connections, without making publicly discoverable phone numbers, email addresses or usernames the foundation of a person’s communication identity.
For organizational communication, Sentient separates verified organizations from ordinary consumer identities, helping people recognize legitimate relationships in a communications environment increasingly affected by digital impersonation and artificial intelligence.

Trust shouldn’t have to be inferred from appearances.
For generations, familiar signals such as phone numbers, caller ID, names and voices helped people decide who they were communicating with. The communications environment has changed. Digital impersonation, spoofing and increasingly capable artificial intelligence have made appearances easier to reproduce.
Sentient was founded around a different question: what would communication look like if trust were established before the conversation began?

Vennie Dass is the founder of Sentient, a New York-founded communication technology company focused on rebuilding digital communication around trust. He founded Sentient around the idea that modern communication should not require people to infer identity from easily reproduced signals such as names, phone numbers or appearances.
